Batek completes another cutting edge assembly line

The automatic assembly line is a comprehensive supply comprising steps from enveloping to battery palletizing, which shall handle common automotive sizes at a speed up to 4,5 batteries per minute.

It is always a challenge to ensure high speed production with precision, efficiency and full automation. ‘’The line to be supplied to a Southeast Asian battery manufacturer marks another breakthrough in the company’s ambitious objectives for being one of the front runners in the industry’’ Not only does it offer quite a lot user friendly designs but also the way in which operations are carried out eliminates requirement of complex processing schedules. We extend our competence and experience in designing a complete assembly line which adequately meets customer’s unique conditions. Several challenges both in battery design and factory layout have been handled with an utmost care to ensure consistent production complying industry standards. The line configuration requires just three permanent operators. Expected production in the line in terms of JIS D26 size is 1400 batteries in seven hour (net) shift.

Two identical envelopers, COS, auto hole punching system, combi welder, weld checker, heat sealer, post burner, leak tester, alu foiler, post brusher & greaser and battery palletizer with dispenser are all integrated with interval transfer conveyors. Many quick change features shall facilitate type changeovers, and optimize OEE of the whole system. The line is equipped with several dediated tooling to comply with both dry and wet charge battery assembly. In the meantime, some customized designs are applied to suit space limitations in the customer’s plant. Basically, the customer shall produce JIS D26 and D31 sizes with varying plate specifications like gravity casted and punched. We strongly believe that our customer is going to have a competitive edge in the market with the starting of the line. It will be the first project in such a scope in customer’s country. The line is the first of several assembly line projects to be shipped in 2018. Meanwhile, we are working on assembly line systems with higher speed, shorter changeover and cost efficiency.
